Constructed Formats

  • Decks are built before the event; you bring your own 60-card main deck.
  • You may have up to 15 cards in a sideboard.
  • No more than 4 copies of any non-basic land card in your combined main + sideboard deck.
  • Only cards from legal sets are allowed; sets “rotate out” annually so older sets become illegal in Standard.
  • Deck size is 100 cards including your Commander. Each card in the deck (other than basic lands) must match your Commander’s color identity.
  • The deck must be singleton: only one copy of any non-basic land card.
  • Commander starts in the “command zone” and can be cast from there; casting it again from the command zone costs extra every time it returns there.
  • Commander damage can kill you if one opponent’s Commander deals you 21+ damage over the course of the game.
  • Players must supply their own official preconstructed Commander deck.
  • Players Commander Precon must follow the original Precon decklist exactly.
  • All other rules follow Commander rule format.

Limited Formats

  • Players open booster packs, pick cards one at a time, passing packs around; build deck from cards drafted.
  • Minimum deck size is 40 cards, includes drafted cards + any number of basic lands you need.
  • No sideboard beyond what you drafted; deck comes from what you selected during drafting.
  • Players build a deck using cards they opened from 6 provided booster packs.
  • Minimum deck size is 40 cards. You may include any number of basic lands beyond that; duplicate cards are okay if you got them from the packs.
  • Sideboard is comprised of unused cards from your sealed pool. You can swap between games using cards from that pool.
